The Building Services Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of managing and maintaining our real estate. They must be people-oriented, providing support and service to all visitors, vendors, and employees. The BSS manages all aspects of daily building activity including security, building services and scheduling, management of common areas, and coordinating across building functions. The BSS must be capable of monitoring, analyzing, and identifying situations to determine the best approach to resolving the situations they encounter, and then managing the situations to resolution. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, clear communication skills, and have strong critical thinking skills, in any situation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a point of contact for all site requests (includes maintenance, events, resource scheduling, shipping, waste management, and external services).
  • Provide a high level of customer service and assistance to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors, in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform daily site walk-throughs to identify areas of concern, and then follow up
  • Perform routine maintenance of site equipment.
  • Monitor vendors and contractors performing site-related work.
  • Respond to situations and/or alarms and contact appropriate emergency services, based upon situation.
  • Ensure sites are welcoming, clean, and provisioned
  • Manage site-related inventory and procurement.
  • Manage all shipping and receiving.
  • Understand the handling and documentation of hazardous and biologic materials. Work with appropriate vendors for the management of these materials.
  • May perform other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree preferred, plus relevant experience (1-3 years)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Basic First Aid and CPR certification is required.
  • Able to work various schedules and shifts, as needed.
  • Understanding of Safety Practices in a business environment, including hazardous materials management.
  • Ability to provide a high level of Customer Service.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, working independently or in teams as required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must have excellent reading, writing and verbal communication skills, as well has having excellent listening skills, when communicating with co-workers and the public.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including but not limited to, adverse outdoor conditions, such as cold, rain and heat.
  • Some travel may be required.
