Role’s Mission:

Fully understanding the portfolio, being able to identify trends and any possible source of new delinquency, using these insights to develop and implement effective collections strategies to optimize recovery rates while maintaining positive customer relationships. This role requires strong quantitative skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze customer data and payment trends to identify opportunities for improving collections performance.
• Develop and implement collections strategies to minimize delinquencies and maximize recovery rates.
• Utilize statistical modeling and predictive analytics to forecast delinquency rates and identify at-risk accounts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk management, product, and operations, to implement collections initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular performance reviews to assess the effectiveness of collections strategies.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to streamline collections operations and enhance efficiency.
• Generate reports and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in collections management to ensure compliance and competitiveness.

Requirements:

Must have

• Experience: Proven 2 year experience in strategy development within the financial services industry, preferably in a fintech environment.
• Academic background: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Technical skills: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical modeling and data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R.

Soft skills:

• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to collections practices.
• Good understanding of machine learning fundamentals and metrics
• Experience with forecasting
• Experience with experimentation (both A/B testing and causal inference when A/B testing is not possible)
