Associate Product Manager
Aplazo
At Aplazo, our mission is to empower financial access, opportunity and freedom, by connecting people and businesses in Latin America, through fair, simple, and transparent financial solutions.
The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Associate Product Manager to help drive the development of internal tools that power our operations, customer support, and collections teams. This role sits at the intersection of product, operations, automation, and data—enabling our internal teams to be more effective, scalable, and AI-augmented.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Aplazo to identify inefficiencies, design high-impact tooling, and help define the systems that support a seamless customer and operational experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Customer Support, Collections, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, and Data) to deeply understand their workflows, pain points, and tooling needs.
- Own the roadmap and execution of features and products that improve customer satisfaction, internal efficiency, reduce manual work, and drive faster resolution times.
- Implement and leverage automation platforms (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make) to create low-code internal workflows and integrations.
- Drive usage of AI tools and process automation to streamline repetitive or complex operational tasks.
- Translate business problems into clear, detailed product requirements and specifications.
- Manage product delivery end-to-end, including grooming, sprint planning, QA, and launch.
- Use SQL and analytics tools to monitor internal tool performance, understand usage behavior, and generate insights for iteration.
- Champion a culture of operational excellence by proactively identifying gaps and opportunities for automation or simplification.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and analytics to ship quality features on time and at scale.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or operational tooling roles—ideally in high-growth startups, fintech, or operations-heavy environments.
- Hands-on experience working with automation tools like n8n, Zapier, or similar low-code platforms.
- Strong expertise in SQL for self-serve analytics, dashboarding, and root cause analysis.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders and back-office systems (e.g., Zendesk, Salesforce, custom CRMs).
- Familiarity with agile product development practices and working closely with engineering teams.
Skills:
- Advanced SQL skills; you're confident writing complex queries to support decision-making and track KPIs.
- Ability to design, test, and deploy automated workflows and integrations that reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you can synthesize complex workflows into clear, scalable product solutions.
- Comfortable writing detailed requirements, flow diagrams, and wireframes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; you can influence without authority and drive alignment across functions.
- Organizational superpowers; you know how to prioritize, manage trade-offs, and keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.
Mindset:
- Ownership mentality: You treat your domain like a founder and care deeply about outcomes.
- Curiosity-driven: You ask “why” repeatedly and seek to understand root causes.
- Empathy-first: You design with your end users in mind and act as their advocate.
- Hustle meets humility: You’re proactive, resourceful, and always willing to learn.
- Continuous improvement: You embrace feedback and see every iteration as an opportunity to grow.
