About the Role
We are looking for a UX Lead to guide and grow Aplazo’s design and research practice. You’ll lead a team, setting the vision, strategy, and execution of user experience across our products. This role combines leadership, hands-on design, and strategic oversight of research, ensuring that user insights and design excellence drive product decisions and business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of product designers and researchers.
  • Define and drive Aplazo’s UX vision and strategy, ensuring consistency and quality across all products.
  • Integrate research and design efforts to deliver user-centered solutions that align with business goals.
  • Partner with Product, Tech, Growth, and Marketing teams to shape roadmaps and influence prioritization through user insights.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, critique, and continuous improvement within the UX team.
  • Establish and evolve design and research processes, tools, and rituals to scale impact across the organization.
  • Represent user needs at the leadership level and ensure they are embedded into decision-making.
  • Provide hands-on support in critical initiatives, from design execution to research framing, when needed.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional design and research teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing product design and strategy across complex flows.
  • Experience mentoring designers and researchers, and building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • You are proficient in written and spoken English

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fintech, payments, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Background in service design, behavioral research, or systems thinking.
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and data-driven iteration.
