About Blue J
Blue J is the leading generative AI solution for tax professionals. As a B2B SaaS company, our customers are accountants and tax experts who rely on our market-leading software to deliver fast, accurate, and defensible answers to complex tax questions.
With the launch of our flagship generative AI product, we’ve consistently exceeded our revenue targets quarter over quarter and continue to accelerate our growth. Our product roadmap is ambitious, customer-focused, and designed to deliver exceptional value at speed.
On the heels of our $122M USD Series D funding, we’re continuing to scale our go-to-market strategy and are looking for a Partner Manager to own and grow our partnerships with professional associations and member-based organizations. In this role, you will be responsible for turning these partnerships into scalable, repeatable revenue channels—driving awareness, member engagement, and conversion through structured programming and product-led growth motions. You will partner closely with Marketing while owning partner performance, activation, and revenue outcomes.
A Note on Location
We are excited to meet with qualified candidates and are grateful for everyone’s interest. This role is primarily remote, with the expectation of in person meetings a few times a quarter. Additionally, there will be occasional travel of up to 20% for conferences. All candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to build and scale Blue J’s association partnership motion, playing a key role in how we drive growth through partner channels.
As a Partner Development Manager, you will own a portfolio of professional associations and member-based organizations, including state societies, NATP, and similar groups. You will be responsible for activating and growing these partnerships through structured, repeatable programs designed to drive trial adoption and conversion into paid customers.
You will work across the full partner lifecycle—from onboarding and activation through performance optimization—building strong relationships while operating in a scalable model.
This role is highly cross-functional, partnering closely with Marketing, Growth, and Revenue teams to deliver measurable outcomes and establish partnerships as a meaningful driver of pipeline and ARR.
What You’ll be Doing
- Own and grow a portfolio of association and member-based partners, driving partner-sourced pipeline and revenue through scalable, trial-driven conversion funnels.
- Build and execute repeatable programs that drive awareness, engagement, and conversion, including webinars, CPE events, co-marketing campaigns, and member offers tied to free trial activation.
- Manage partner performance across the full funnel (traffic → trials → activation → paid), using data to identify opportunities, optimize outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with partners as the primary point of contact, balancing responsiveness with a scalable, efficient engagement model.
- Run regular partner check-ins and performance reviews, identifying underperforming partnerships and implementing targeted plans to improve results.
- Collaborate closely with Partner Marketing to execute campaigns and ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery across partners.
- Identify opportunities to expand and deepen partnerships within the broader ecosystem, increasing reach and impact.
- Develop and refine systems, playbooks, and processes that support a repeatable partner growth engine, including campaign frameworks, performance tracking, and communication cadence.
- Represent Blue J at partner-related events, including conferences, trade shows, and association meetings, to strengthen relationships and drive engagement.
What You Offer Blue J
- 4–7+ years of experience in partnerships, channel, growth, account management, or lifecycle roles, with demonstrated ownership of partner performance and revenue or funnel outcomes.
- Proven ability to manage and grow a portfolio of partners in a structured, scalable way, driving measurable results across acquisition and conversion funnels.
- Strong understanding of product-led growth (PLG) or product-led sales (PLS) motions, including trial-driven acquisition and conversion strategies.
- Experience executing or supporting marketing-driven programs such as webinars, campaigns, or co-marketing initiatives.
- Clear and effective communicator, with the ability to build strong relationships while operating efficiently across multiple stakeholders and partners.
- Highly organized and data-driven, comfortable analyzing funnel performance, identifying trends, and making informed decisions to optimize outcomes.
What We Offer You
- An incredibly exciting opportunity to be an early team member shaping the partnerships function at a rapidly growing company. You’ll take ownership of a new portfolio of transactional partnerships, directly driving revenue and helping scale partner-led growth across a broad ecosystem.
- You’ll have the chance to work with established partners and connect with a network of ~200,000 members across state societies, while representing Blue J at conferences and building new initiatives that expand our reach and impact.
- A mission-driven culture where your work directly advances clarity, efficiency, and accessibility in tax research.
- We’re well-funded and offer competitive base salaries and stock options. You’ll play a crucial role in our growth, and it’s important to us that you share in our long-term success.
- Flexibility in how you work: primarily remote, with occasional travel to our Toronto office and conferences as needed.
- We care about you as a whole person. You’ll have a healthy work/life balance and colleagues who respect it. We’ve mindfully put together a great benefits package that covers you and your family.
- We’ve got an amazing team. We’re mission-driven and motivated by success, but we’re friendly, we’re collaborative, and we care about each other.
- We’ve got all the start-up perks you’d expect, and are intentionally building a culture where you can feel safe to be yourself at work, and watch your career grow because your team has invested in you.
