Data Quality Analyst - Insurance

Note: this role requires deep knowledge of auto & general liability insurance and experience with SQL and Informatica.

About the Role

As a technical data professional with insurance domain-specific experience, the Data Quality Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring that the customer’s claims data being used across CLARA’s platform is accurate, consistent, and reliable. Partnering closely with Customer Success Managers, the Data Quality Analyst also serves as a trusted advisor to clients by identifying ways to leverage and refine data quality for improved customer experience and ROI.

What You’ll Do...

  • Data Quality Validation
    • Leverage domain-specific knowledge to support the onboarding of new customers through verification of historical data validity.
    • Identify the best usage of a customer’s structured and unstructured claims data in CLARA’s current and future products.
    • Utilize integration skillsets to develop and implement API/scripting for obtaining and processing customer data sets.
    • Participate in efforts to develop rules around data standardization and see them through to implementation for the customer.
  • Customer Solutions and Team Collaboration
    • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Science, and other teams regarding strategies to deliver timely feedback on model predictions and data quality to customers.
    • Work directly with customers to evaluate their data, map it appropriately for model consumption and testing the data output in user interface before release to production.
  • Data Governance & Best Practices
    • Integrate governance practices across the organization to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
    • Identify gaps in the quality assurance and testing processes, generate solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Customer Development and Customer Success Partnerships
    • Assist in the design and implementation of solutions leveraging reporting, dashboarding and other data visualization techniques to provide analytical insights on existing data quality.
    • Lean on technical and process solutions to help Customer Success Managers solve problems in scalable and sustainable ways.
    • Consult with internal SMEs and Customer Success Managers to identify opportunities for increased customer ROI of the CLARA product/platform based on data quality improvements.

What We’re Looking For...

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least three (3) or four (4) years of experience working in or supporting the P&C insurance industry, specifically for Auto and GL.
  • Experience working in claims data and systems data integration, including Guidewire’s ClaimCenter.
  • Knowledge of insurance principles, terminology, customs and practices within Auto and GL.
  • Experience in SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and analytics tools (Superset, Excel/Google Sheets, PowerBI, etc.).
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Informatica for data cleansing, standardization, and quality.
  • Proficient in evaluating claims data to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to listen/interface effectively with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to concisely present and communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred

  • Past experience in insurtech or a technology-driven solutions startup for the insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of AI and their applications in claims management.
  • Python Script for validating data.
