Claims Strategist - Product

Note: this role requires deep knowledge of P&C insurance (specifically GL and Auto), experience with complex claims in excess of $1mm, and exposure to claim litigation.

About the Role

As a Claims Strategist on the Product team, reporting into the Director of Product Strategy & Enablement, you'll be responsible for conducting subject matter assessment of complex casualty claims, assessing claims quality across the enterprise, and collaborating cross-functionally to develop, implement, and refine claims solutions, tools, and processes. This role is ideal for someone with a background that has a strong blend of high severity casualty claims expertise, litigation leadership, and product innovation mindset driving operational excellence and customer outcomes.

What You’ll Do...

  • Translate front-line claim and litigation into product features and process enhancements.
  • Conduct product reviews across product lines to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports with findings, root cause analysis, and recommendations for improvement and participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistency.
  • Develop and implement test plans and business use cases for products + review and approve use cases and testing results, particularly in a medical/legal context.

What We’re Looking For...

Required

  • A Bachelor’s degree and Master's degree.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in handling casualty claims across all 50 states.
  • Business acumen and ability to conduct/implement quality process and procedures.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and/or product development experience within a related space (software, technology, insurance, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Excel.

Preferred

  • Exposure to the insurtech space, including claims intelligence and document intelligence.
  • JD degree, either completed or in-progress.
  • CPCU, ARM, and/or AIC certification
