What is Cobre, and what do we do?

Cobre is Latin America’s leading instant b2b payments platform. We solve the region’s most complex money movement challenges by building advanced financial infrastructure that enables companies to move money faster, safer, and more efficiently.

We enable instant business payments—local or international, direct or via API—all from a single platform.

Built for fintechs, PSPs, banks, and finance teams that demand speed, control, and efficiency. From real-time payments to automated treasury, we turn complex financial processes into simple experiences.

Cobre is the first platform in Colombia to enable companies to pay both banked and unbanked beneficiaries within the same payment cycle and through a single interface.

We are building the enterprise payments infrastructure of Latin America!

What we are looking for:

We need someone who builds banking infrastructure from the ground up. You'll open new banking relationships, negotiate strategic partnerships with financial institutions, set up accounts, and lead technical integration projects—whether connecting to central bank systems, building API bridges to banking partners, or expanding our regulated entities' connectivity.

You'll own Cobre's banking partnership strategy across Latin America and key international corridors, building the network that powers our unified treasury layer and makes our platform real. You'll translate client needs and product roadmap priorities into banking relationships and technical integrations—then get those connections live for our product squads to build on.

This role is about making things happen. You'll forge relationships with banking executives to unlock new capabilities, lead cross-functional projects to connect us to payment rails, structure commercial agreements that work for both sides, and hand off operational partnerships once they're running. What you build determines how fast we can launch new markets, how reliably money moves through our platform, and whether we can deliver on our promise to become Latin America's default payments infrastructure.

What would you be doing:

Partnership development and network building

  • Drive the full banking partnership strategy end-to-end - from mapping markets and selecting partners to closing contracts and taking them live.
  • Build and nurture senior-level relationships with banks, payment networks, central banks, and infrastructure providers across latin america and key global markets.
  • Source and assess partnership opportunities that expand our footprint, unlock new product capabilities, and strengthen our competitive edge.
  • Design and structure a range of partnership models — from liquidity arrangements to co-innovation initiatives with leading institutions.
  • Lead initial negotiations on fees, settlement terms, credit lines, SLAs, revenue-sharing, and long-term strategic alignment.

Integration coordination & project ownership

  • Lead banking integration projects end-to-end, from scoping to production launch, acting as the accountable business owner for successful go-live.
  • Work closely with Platform Core: you define the “what and why,” they execute the “how,” translating partner capabilities into technical requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional streams—security, compliance, legal, regulatory—to unlock new connections.
  • Drive integrations across the finish line by unblocking issues, aligning stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring commitments are met.
  • Define success metrics and milestones, track progress, and escalate risks early.
  • Manage smooth handoffs post-launch to treasury, operations, and support teams.

Performance management & reporting

  • Measure and report on core metrics: integrations launched, time-to-market, enabled volumes, cost efficiency, and revenue impact.
  • Run post-launch reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future activations.
  • Keep detailed documentation of agreements, playbooks, terms, and strategic rationale.
  • Deliver executive-level updates on pipeline, integration status, and strategic outcomes.

What do you need:

Partnership & commercial skills

  • Experience in banking partnerships, business development, or corp dev.
  • Proven ability to manage c-level relationships and navigate institutional decision-making.
  • Knowledge of banking operations: settlement, correspondent banking, payment rails, liquidity, treasury.
  • Strategic thinker with commercial acumen to structure long-term, win-win partnerships.
  • Experience with varied commercial models: revenue shares, exclusivity, volume commitments, fees, co-investment.

Project leadership & execution

  • Bias for action—removing blockers, driving timelines, holding teams accountable.
  • Experience leading integration projects in banking/fintech (technical literacy required, coding not).
  • Ability to translate between business and technical requirements seamlessly.

Market & domain expertise

  • Knowledge of Latam banking systems, payment rails (PSE, SPEI, etc.), and cross-border operations.
  • Familiarity with central bank systems, correspondent banking, swift, and intl settlement.
  • Global mindset, adaptable across cultures and regulatory environments.

Personal attributes

  • Entrepreneurial and outcomes-driven, comfortable with ambiguity in a scaling startup.
  • Strong stakeholder management, from bank CEOs to ops teams and compliance.
  • Able to influence without authority and rally cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication—clear, concise, executive-ready.
  • Frequent travel availability across Latam and beyond.
  • Bilingual fluency: english & spanish (other languages a plus)

Bonus points

  • Existing relationships with senior banking execs in Mexico, Colombia, or wider Latam.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or bank corporate/treasury functions.
  • Familiarity with api-based integrations, host-to-host connectivity, or payment infrastructure protocols.
