What we are looking for:
As a Compliance & Due Diligence Analyst / Compliance Officer, you will play a dual role at Cobre: you will serve as our designated Compliance Officer before the Colombian regulatory authorities (SFC/UIAF), while also being the hands-on owner of our AML/CFT framework. You will lead counterparty due diligence, drive the continuous improvement of our SARLAFT/SAGRILAFT controls, and be the main point of contact for all compliance matters in Colombia.
What would you be doing:
- Compliance Officer: act as Cobre’s designated Compliance Officer for SAGRILAFT and PTEE, before the Supersociedades, UIAF, and other Colombian regulatory authorities; sign and submit mandatory regulatory reports (ROS, RTE, REFTE); represent the company in regulatory inspections and information requests; and maintain the official compliance register required by law.
- Counterparty due diligence (DD & DDI): client onboarding and periodic reviews, verifying documentation and identifying ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs).
- Screening: validation against sanctions lists (OFAC, UN, EU), PEPs, adverse media, and local regulatory lists (UIAF, SFC, among others).
- Policies & procedures: support the development, documentation, and enhancement of SARLAFT / SAGRILAFT and PTEE controls.
- Reporting: preparation of internal compliance reports and support for regulatory filings (STRs/UIAF).
- Research & analysis: support in identifying new typologies, regulatory updates, and risk assessments.
What do you need:
- Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- 3+ years of experience in Compliance, AML/CFT, or Risk — including at least 1 year in a role eligible to serve as Compliance Officer under Colombian regulation (banking, fintech, or payments sector).
- Eligible and willing to be designated as Compliance Officer before the SFC: no regulatory sanctions, no criminal record, and meets the professional profile required under the SARLAFT regulation (Circular Básica Jurídica, Chapter XI).
- Knowledge of SARLAFT, SAGRILAFT, PTEE and the Colombian regulatory framework.
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Advanced level of English
