Summary

The Principal, Data Governance will lead the establishment and execution of the Curana Health Data Governance Program, focusing on creating adopted data standards and curating single sources of truth for key data concepts and metrics. He/she will be responsible for driving initiatives in the area of data quality, master data management, data stewardship, data tagging, and data retention. The candidate will develop, facilitate, and mature oversight committees focused on data ownership, leading to gold-standard definitions, viewable data dictionaries, and searchable data catalogs. All data governance initiatives will be geared towards protecting the organization from unnecessary exposure of protected data and enhancing Curana Health’s ability to leverage high-quality and meaningful information to drive improvement in the areas of clinical, financial, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Enable and drive the development of a Curana Health data governance program
  • Develop the necessary structures to support and sustain data governance best practices, including roles and responsibilities for members and partners
  • Define single sources of truth and gold standards as it relates to data concepts, metrics, and KPIs
  • Identify best practices in the areas of data management, data quality, data stewardship, and master data management
  • Act as a facilitator and trusted advisor for executive leadership to drive the use of data as an asset
  • Create a milestone-rich data governance roadmap
  • Work hand-in-hand with data architecture and analytics team to ensure data standards are accessible and leveraged for the advancement of analytics
  • Develop strategy and publish company policy in the areas of data access, data management, and data retention
  • Develop and report data governance KPIs that measure the efficacy of the data governance program

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience working in data analytics and/or data management
  • 5+ years of healthcare data experience (provider and/or payor)
  • 5+ years in a data governance leadership role
  • Track record in launching and driving a successful data governance program
  • Proven acumen in both business and technical domains
  • Ability to influence leadership to drive support and accountability within the program
  • Experience with one or more data governance technologies (i.e. Microsoft Purview)
  • Expert communicator, presenter, and facilitator
  • Expert written and oral communication skills
  • Independent self-starter
