Summary
To enable Curana Health’s expansion and performance, the Population Health team is seeking a high-performing leader to build and lead a healthcare economics function to create better insights to guide our clinical care delivery model and help us provide better outcomes for our patients. This role will be responsible for designing and maintaining population health reporting on key value drivers including utilization, quality metrics and risk adjustment. Additionally, this role will support measurement and evaluation of clinical model pilots and will provide key input and leadership on the necessary data infrastructure to support these efforts. Key Responsibilities
- Refine and develop strategy and team for healthcare economics to support Curana’s mission to improve the health, happiness and dignity of our senior living patients
- Act as data owner/steward for population health data sets (e.g., claims, risk adjustment, quality) in partnership with IT team
- Manager executive level population health dashboard for senior leadership team
- Enhance existing claims level reporting to include all-payors and support detailed analysis on drivers of unnecessary cost and utilization
- Support on-going and ad-hoc reporting to support our efforts to provide high quality care and to completely and accurately document patient acuity
- Develop methodology and process to evaluate clinical model pilots
- Create and maintain
- Model expected performance on new and existing value-based contracts to inform negotiations, financial settlements and on-going operations
- Build automated processes to generate population health reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Build positive trusting relationships with internal and external team members to influence targeted groups in the decision-making process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Background & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; masters degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare economics, actuarial, or other similar analytic function supporting medical groups, payors or similar
- 2+ years experience building/growing and leading an analytical team
- Clinical, financial and technical understanding of health care operations or demonstrated ability and interest to learn quickly.
- Familiarity and experience with value-based care concepts, payment models, and key value drivers, e.g. ACOs, Medicare Advantage, capitation, shared savings, quality, risk adjustment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven experience developing concise and impactful representations of complicated data sets.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to shift focus across priorities as business needs evolve.
