SUMMARY
Curana Health is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The Accounting Manager will occupy a highly visible position that will have an instant and ongoing impact on the development of accounting processes and the accounting team through exposure to a variety of complex accounting matters that are native to a high growth business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibility for managing the monthly accounting close process.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP through development and support of systematic review processes and procedures in a dynamic collegiate environment.
- Manage accounting team members, providing assistance, guidance and support to ensure high performance and continued professional development.
- Assist with coordination of the annual audit process with external auditors through development of accounting analyses, reconciliations and related materials.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures, and internal control activities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Analyze financial data and present findings to senior management to support decision-making through development/management of the monthly/quarterly/annual fluctuation analysis process.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals and objectives.
- Responsible for accounting process areas including:
- Consolidations,
- Intercompany transactions and related eliminations
- Expense accruals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Accounting for joint ventures and equity method investments
- Corporate debt and equity
- General ledger manager responsibilities including user access reviews, new dimension set up, chart of accounts, etc.
- Provide assistance with technical accounting research focused on contract review for significant matters and other complex transactions.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Experience at a Big 4 or regional accounting firm is highly preferred.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
- At least 5 years of professional accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software Sage Intacct and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Preference for remote work.
- High level of integrity and strong attention to detail.
- End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners.
- Understanding of internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the required control activities in assigned process areas to support and address accounting for complex transactions arising from emerging and growing business activities.
- Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
- Ability to escalating risks and issues as necessary to leadership to maintain efficient and timely process execution.
- Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change.
- Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects to ensure efficient and timely accounting close process.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
