Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Workday Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process for semi-monthly and bi-weekly pay cycles through Workday, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, excellent analytical skills, and demonstrated expertise with Workday’s payroll and time-tracking modules.
Key Responsibilities:

Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls in Workday, ensuring accuracy of employee time records, rates of pay, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, garnishments, and other compensation-related data.

Maintain employee payroll records and audit for discrepancies related to time entry, benefits, deductions, and tax information.

Ensure accurate calculation and remittance of federal, state, and local payroll taxes in compliance with applicable laws and company policy.

Coordinate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate employee data entry, including new hires, terminations, job changes, and leave management.

Reconcile payroll accounts with the general ledger and bank statements monthly.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, withholdings, and adjustments in a timely and professional manner.

Handle stop payments, reissues, and corrections of pay discrepancies as needed.

Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information and systems at all times.

Assist with year-end payroll activities, including preparation of W-2s and other required filings.

Support internal and external audits related to payroll.

Continuously identify and implement improvements to payroll processes, especially within Workday.
Required Qualifications:

2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a high-volume, multi-state environment.

Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll and Workday Time Tracking is required.

Strong understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
