Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide weekend inpatient medical rounding at a psychiatric facility. In this role, you will focus on the medical management of patients admitted for psychiatric care, addressing their physical health needs, managing chronic conditions, and supporting overall wellness.

This position offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to deliver integrated medical care in collaboration with psychiatric teams, ensuring patients receive comprehensive treatment that supports both their mental and physical well-being.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide weekend medical rounds on inpatient psychiatric units to assess patients’ physical health, review labs and medications, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Perform focused evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and implement evidence-based treatment plans for medical concerns.
  • Work closely with psychiatry, nursing, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and ensure that patients’ medical needs are appropriately addressed throughout hospitalization.
  • Complete accurate, timely charting in the EMR and ensure compliance with all facility and regulatory standards.
    Monitor for changes in condition, respond to emergent medical issues, and escalate concerns to collaborating physicians as needed.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of care.

Qualifications

  • Valid nurse practitioner or physician assistant license in state of operations & current board certification in your field
  • Masters Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills preferred.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess traits of punctuality, organizational skills, and ability to function within a team.

This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities. Depending on the amount of travel required, Curana may in future determine that a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required. If so, you will be provided with thirty (30) days notice of this requirement. From that time forward, please be advised that Periodic motor vehicle (MVR) checks may be conducted as a condition of, and/or for, continued employment.
