Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to serve as a warm, visible presence within our senior living communities. This is a concierge-style role focused on building relationships with residents, families, and community partners while providing clinical and administrative support to our healthcare providers. The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of excellent, personalized care to the residents we serve.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Community Engagement
- Serve as a concierge and trusted point of contact within the senior living community, building genuine relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Check in regularly with community leaders (executive directors, nursing, sales, wellness, and leadership) to stay aligned on resident needs and priorities.
- Attend community social events to connect with residents and families, build rapport, and strengthen our presence in the community.
- Act as a liaison between key stakeholders and communicate the community's needs back to the care team.
Resident Engagement
- Assist residents with any needs that arise, serving as a friendly, reliable go-to resource.
- Obtain new resident packets and ensure records are complete, accurate, and ready for the provider.
- Coordinate care between specialists, therapy, home health, and other ancillary services.
- Assist with front desk duties, including appointment management, scheduling, and other related tasks.
- Conduct monthly outreach with residents and families to assess needs and coordinate care consistent with the provider's care plan.
- Connect residents with local and regional social support services.
Clinical Functions
- Greet each resident, family member, and staff member with a smile.
- Take vital signs and help prepare residents for their visit (room patients if in a clinic setting).
- Coordinate after-visit follow up.
- Complete all diagnostic testing.
- Manage and complete all quality assurance monitoring.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Outgoing individual who loves interacting with people
- Organized and effective communicator
- Experience working as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting, preferably in a geriatric or senior care environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Passionate about helping others and serving seniors
- Highly organized
- Reliable transportation required, as this role involves travel between community sites
- Willingness to learn and be a part of something great
