Job Description

A bit about this role:

This dynamic and exciting position will report directly to the Head of Tax, collaborate directly with various other departments and leaders, and will be involved in all things related to corporate tax. The Tax Manager - Compliance and Reporting will be responsible in tax planning matters, supporting tax operations, and interacting with internal and external stakeholders to help identify opportunities and minimize risk, while remaining compliant with all aspects of the law.

Your Responsibilities and Impact will include:

  • Preparation of the Company’s federal consolidated income tax return and related state income and premium tax filings.

  • Preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual GAAP and insurance legal entity tax provisions, and related disclosures in accordance with US GAAP and/or NAIC, as applicable, state statutory accounting principles.

  • Owning and maintaining the relevant tax control environment in accordance with the Model Audit Rule and/or Sarbanes-Oxley 404, including participation in the Company’s ICFR program.

  • Managing the computation and forecasting of taxable income and related tax cash payments.

  • Responsibility for providing support and assistance in tax initiatives related to tax transformation improvements in the reporting and compliance processes.

  • Assisting in responding to tax related audit requests, notices or inquiries from taxing authorities, internal and external auditors.

  • Conducting federal, multistate, and/or local tax research, and

  • Leading tax planning initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance with current and new federal and state legislation.

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant tax experience in public accounting or similar field.

  • Bachelor degree in accounting or taxation, MS Tax, preferred.

  • Experience with Onesource tax compliance and provision software.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Relevant insurance and/or healthcare provider industry experience preferred.

  • Strong state and local background preferred.

  • CPA preferred

Salary range: $109,000-$125,000

Our ranges are purposefully broad to allow for growth within the role over time. Once the interview process begins, your talent partner will provide additional information on the compensation for the role, along with additional information on our total rewards package. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
