A bit about the role
The Palliative Care NP Manager will provide expert clinical care for the Palliative Care Program and provide direct supervision of palliative care clinical staff.
The breakdown of people management vs patient care is likely to evolve/shift over time depending on program needs. The manager will participate in referral management, process improvement, and change management.
Direct/Indirect Patient Care:
Provide direct patient care to patients enrolled in our palliative care program by phone or video visit during scheduled and on-demand patient visits.
Participate in and/or lead patient panel reviews
Participate in weekly IDT (1h/wk)
People Management:
Clinical champion for the work - you are a player-coach, modeling clinical excellence for other palliative care clinicians.
Model and support development and implementation of new workflows during rapid cycles of iteration
Direct supervisor of palliative care clinical staff (mix of supervisees TBD - NP/RN/SW)
Goal setting and coaching of direct reports to achieve business goals as set by leadership
Regular review of direct reports’ work and holding RNs and Social Workers accountable to individual performance. Creating performance improvement plans, when needed.
Perform regular clinical audits (QA) that include a mix of note review and listening tours

Recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new clinical staff

Skills and experience:
5+ years of experience as a Palliative Care Clinician
2+ years of experience leading front line clinical teams with accountability for team level outcomes
Demonstrated ability to champion new initiatives and achieve direct business outcomes
You have great clinical and non-clinical judgment and are able to coach around performance to drive clinical effectiveness
You are deeply empathetic and humanistic, and want to go the last mile for our patients
You work well with individuals from varied backgrounds and skill-sets
You are committed to this mission: you know the road will be bumpy, stressful, and require compromises, but you’re up for the ride
You learn from every experience and are not afraid to fail - that's how you're wired
You’re a great team member with a can-do attitude
Salary range: $140,000 - $155,000
The pay range listed for this position is the range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. Once the interview process begins, your talent partner will provide additional information on the compensation for the role, along with additional information on our total rewards package. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
