A bit about this role:
We're seeking a leader to help guide and encourage our team as we enter the next stage of Devoted’s growth. Someone with demonstrated ability managing and coaching high performing teams as well as an eagerness to dive in and build themselves. This Associate Director (AD) will be a key member of our Data and Business Intelligence team and responsible for managing analysts who support Devoted’s Claims, Health Services, Payment Integrity, Provider Service and Compliance workstreams and act as a strategic partner to our Core Service Operations leadership team, scoping and developing reporting tools and analyses that directly impact operational performance.


With the advent and rapid evolution of LLM tools, how work gets done for analysts is changing every day. This AD will enthusiastically engage at the cutting edge of tool development, bringing external perspective and developing tools for both their direct team and the broader data organization. To be successful in this position this leader must be skilled at coaching and mentoring analysts with deep subject matter expertise on how to get the most leverage possible through automation of their development workflow.


Reporting into the Sr. Director of Business Intelligence, you will partner with many teams across the company (business teams, data science, product management, data engineering, and software engineering) to determine how best to measure and present our company’s performance. Both as an individual contributor and manager you will be responsible for building tools that will: ensure data integrity and reporting consistency; maintain the performance of our BI platform (Looker); and scale to support current and future LLM supported analyses and use cases.
We need a leader who desires wearing many hats, loves coaching and developing teams, and working with leaders across the organization to develop reporting and generating insights that enable Devoted to improve performance in critical business areas.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coaching a team of high performing analysts with deep subject matter expertise in their domains

  • Partnering and collaborating with Senior (COO, VP, Sr. Director) level leaders across the organization to build understanding of business workflows and propose requirements for KPIs and reporting tools.

  • Understanding impact of projects within and across workstreams, effectively proposing and defending prioritization based on business impact.

  • Building, testing, and iterating on stored LLM prompts and other automation tools, evangelizing the use of those tools across the data team.

  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to define requirements for supporting data warehousing systems in Snowflake or our internal operating platform.

  • Designing data structures and tools that will scale as our company continues its adoption of LLM based analysis, including self-service conversational analytics.

Required skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a fast paced growth environment (either a successful start up or high growth corporate division)

  • 4+ years managing analysts

  • 6+ years experience developing metrics and performing analyses

  • 6+ years experience with development in a Business Intelligence platforms (Looker (strongly preferred), Tableau, Power BI)

  • Strong SQL skills and expertise in advanced sql concepts (CTEs, window functions, complex joins, etc) to execute ad hoc analysis and prototype data models

  • Experience at a Medicare Advantage plan working with claims or utilization management data

Bonus:

  • At least 3 years in management consulting, product management, or another strategic role translating technical problems for executive-level audiences

  • Comfort with “live” coding and real time problem solving, bringing up a SQL query and iterating in front of stakeholders is part of your toolkit

  • Experience with dbt

  • Familiarity using LLM coding features within an IDE (Github Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code)

Salary Range: $175,000 - $185,000 / year

The pay range listed for this position is the range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. Once the interview process begins, your talent partner will provide additional information on the compensation for the role, along with additional information on our total rewards package. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
