YOUR ROLE
The Director, Accounting is responsible for playing a key role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will lead and mentor our accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high performing environment while completing complex accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, payroll, and providing key financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will ensure a high standard of customer service to other operating and support departments of the organization, and related companies.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of income statements, balance sheets, & cash flow statements as well as Net Suite reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries. Leveraging the best accounting practices to ensure audit readiness
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis (MOM/YOY/Budget vs Actual).
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support to enhance their skills and performance, while also holding staff accountable for job duties and compliance.
- Coordinate with tax and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance throughout the year.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
- Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Lead 1099 reporting and compliance oversight and submission.
- Manage vendor procurement experience and oversight in systems such as Ramp, NetSuite, and travel vendor.
- Maintain high attention to detail with Treasury transactions.
- Transparency in accounting systematic record management for continuity of accounting information.
- Regular and reliable attendance.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA or CMA certification, preferred
- 3 years experience in an Accounting Director role with deep understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements
- 5 years of experience with all general ledger accounts and journal entries and reconciliations of these general ledger accounts
- 5 years of hands-on experience with accounting software and advanced proficiency in spreadsheets. NetSuite & Ramp experience, preferred
- 3 years of experience with Payroll oversight and management
- 3 years of experience with Treasury management
- 3 years of experience leading teams in a young, high growth company
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- High level of integrity, accuracy, tenacity, and attention to detail with a proven track record of high ethical standards
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities on a consistent basis
- Healthcare accounting experience, with experience in a Value Based Care (VBC) environment preferred
- Experience with outside Auditor requests and professional communication with Auditors
- 1099 maintenance, preparation, and submission experience
- Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach to financial management
- Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture while managing day-to-day financial operations
- Intermediate skills with MS Office Suite of products including Outlook and Teams
- You have the ability to work effectively in a primarily remote environment
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wired to the house internet (Cable, Fiber, or DSL) and hardwired to the internet device is recommended
- Evergreen will provide Remote or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephony applications and equipment to meet the business requirements for their position/job
- Team Members must work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Pay range for this role is $150,000 to $160,000, with exact pay determined based on experience, education, demand for role, and other role-specific criteria.
