GeneDx is seeking a Procurement Specialist I, reporting to the Procurement Manager. The Procurement Specialist’s primary responsibility will be performing the purchasing function including the receipt and processing of purchase requisitions and procurement of services, supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as the management of existing vendor relationships. The successful candidate must have strong people skills, the ability to see the big picture, yet accurate with close attention to detail. Sharp analytical, problem-solving skills combined with common sense and good judgement. Well organized with an ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a dynamic environment.

This is a hybrid role, where we are seeking someone within a 50-60 mile radius that can be onsite as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiate with different suppliers for price, quality, and lead time requirements.
  • Support stocking level plans and delivery requirements.
  • React to changes in supply plan driven by a dynamic demand forecast.
  • Review performance indicators and support continuous improvement.
  • React and communicate changes in material logistics.
  • Expedite and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Create and analyze requisitions, help accounts payable with invoices, process and analyze supply requests and supply orders.
  • Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Support the sourcing of new suppliers for future needs.
  • Work closely with Supply Planning to meet capacity requirements.
  • Manage timely entry and maintenance of purchase orders.
  • Handle correspondence concerning over shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and cost.
  • Ensures compliance with company authorized signature levels.
  • Works with suppliers on corrective actions.
  • Help to process returns.
  • Maintains purchase order logs and prepares monthly reports as needed.
  • Assist the team in data collection on supplier performance.
  • Closely monitor supply plans and programs, including backorders and exception reports and develop action/mitigation plans as appropriate.
  • Support ERP / NS Supply Chain functionality.
  • Work collaboratively with Supply Planning to establish bulk orders, JIT opportunities, and safety stock models.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of one year business experience in a high volume environment; will consider recent college graduate with business oriented degree and minimal experience
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
  • Able to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast paced, team oriented environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with solid skills in Excel
  • ERP / NS (Net Suite) Knowledge is a key advantage
