The People Business Partner (PBP) will provide coaching, create a sense of community and connectivity within our Gaithersburg lab; lead organizational assessments, and embed our people strategy within the business functions to achieve short and long-term Company goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the relationship between team members, leaders, and the organization through:
    • Problem resolution through non-biased internal investigations.
    • Resolve conflict
    • Provide guidance on discipline and terminations.
    • Ensure fair treatment and compliance with company policies and employment laws
    • Foster a positive work environment
    • Promote team member satisfaction
  • Develop and implement team member relations best practices and programs
  • Execute and engage team members people strategies and engagement initiatives

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Partner with leaders to align current and future business needs into an integrated people plan for the function. Focusing on opportunities that contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the business.
  • Proactively understand team, leadership, and organizational needs, making recommendations, and implementing appropriate solutions to scale.
  • Integrate and partner with the People team in Recruitment, Total Rewards, People Strategy, and Legal to build and implement solutions that will help scale the business and support our people.
  • Align with functional goals and key areas of impact. Consistently analyze the progress and stop gaps to support your teams in achieving their goals and/or creating new pathways that will lead to solutions and breakthroughs.
  • Connect with leaders to ensure Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging is owned by all and led by our leaders.
  • Ensure the proper roll out and usage of People processes (systems, performance, engagement, SOP’s, etc.)
  • Coach and support leaders in all things people leadership. Our goal is to build leaders who are comfortable and confident in this space so they can build productive, collaborative, and engaged teams.
  • Ensure our teams understand where we are going, how we are getting there, how their role/function plays a critical role and that they feel empowered and excited to make a positive impact together!

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 3-5 years in a business partner role with extensive employee relations experience.
  • Mentality of ownership and partnership. You seek to deeply understand the business and people to create meaningful strategies, programs, and experiences.
  • A ‘glass half full’ mindset who seizes challenges as opportunities. You are not afraid to think creatively, be inventive, lead change, and understand the importance of teamwork.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • High-quality testing: Our laboratory is CLIA certified and CAP accredited and most of our tests are also New York State approved.
  • Advanced detection: By interrogating genes for complex variants, we can identify the underlying causes of conditions that may otherwise be missed.

CLINICAL EXPERTISE

  • Thorough analysis: We classify variants according to our custom adaptation of the most recent guidelines. We then leverage our rich internal database for additional interpretation evidence.
  • Customized care: Our experts review all test results and write reports in a clear, concise, and personalized way. We also include information for research studies in specific clinical situations.
  • Impactful discovery: Our researchers continue working to find answers even after testing is complete. Through both internal research efforts and global collaborations, we have identified and published hundreds of new disease-gene relationships and developed novel tools for genomic data analysis. These efforts ultimately deliver more diagnostic findings to individuals.
