Responsibilities

The Scheduler is a key role within the HarmonyCares Medical Group, executing standard scheduling function operations, policies, and procedures. The scheduler collaborates with local and regional leadership, medical assistants, patient care coordinators, providers, patients, and other supportive functions within the HarmonyCares Medical Group to prioritize patient visits, adhere to provider contact hours, and overall management of census.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deveolop and maintain provider schedules to meet patient needs
  • Manage provider census through proactive census risk management
  • Collaborate with local leadership to maximize scheduling system and ensure patient requests are communicated
  • Maintain relationships and effectively communicate HarmonyCares services with patients and family members
  • Place and receive phone calls to facilitate effective scheduling function
  • Escalate scheduling concerns, and issues, both internally and externally
  • Adhere to patient confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Attend required meetings and in-services
  • Collaborate with manager, teammates, and other HarmonyCares employees
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excellent customer service skills with 1-2 years of experience
  • Knowledge of practice protocols to assist in scheduling patients for care
  • Skill in maintaining department quality and control standards
  • Computer skills and ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to communicate in an empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor at all times
  • Ability to problem solve and arrive at effective solutions in a timely manner
  • Skill in teamwork and maintaining relationships with patients, caregivers and co-workers
  • Critical thinker that can balance scheduling protocols and market needs to maximize patient access
  • Ability to work at computer screen for extended periods of time
