Your Role
The Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the regulatory compliance within Honest, ensuring that the organization adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing programs to ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements, including healthcare laws, patient privacy, and ethical standards. This role requires a strategic leader with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry, regulatory landscape, and compliance best practices.
Primary Functions of the Chief Compliance Officer Include:
- Develop and implement an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
- Lead and manage the compliance team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to create and sustain a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, and other relevant laws.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and communicate potential impacts to the organization.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the compliance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate compliance risks.
- Oversee the investigation and resolution of compliance issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Implement and monitor a robust internal audit program to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Maintain thorough documentation of compliance activities, investigations, and outcomes. Prepare and present compliance reports to the executive team and board of directors.
- Oversee the organization's response to compliance-related complaints and concerns.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
How You Qualify

- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, law, business, or a related field; Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred
- 12+ years of experience in healthcare compliance with at least 6 years in a leadership role
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or equivalent certification is highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, and other relevant laws
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- High ethical standards and integrity
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective compliance programs
- Experience with risk management and internal audit functions
