Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented, research-driven Recovery Optimization Analyst with deep curiosity about payment networks, regulations, and chargeback management. You will become our company's expert on card network rules, PSP requirements, and industry best practices, directly impacting our ability to recover disputed transactions for merchants.

As part of the Product Analytics team, you will immerse yourself in the complex world of payment disputes—learning the intricacies of different card schemes, analyzing PSP-specific requirements, monitoring regulatory updates, and translating this knowledge into actionable product improvements. This role is ideal for someone who loves diving deep into regulations, enjoys solving complex puzzles, and wants to become a recognized expert in a specialized domain.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of card network rules (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) and monitor regulatory changes that impact chargeback disputes.
  • Create and optimize dispute response content, evidence frameworks, and industry-specific playbooks based on network requirements and best practices
  • Research and document PSP-specific requirements, evidence formats, and submission guidelines across different payment processors
  • Analyze patterns in dispute outcomes using SQL to identify opportunities to improve cross-segment recovery rates.
  • Translate regulatory requirements and industry insights into product feature requirements and optimization strategies.
  • Partner with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to implement improvements and enable new business opportunities (industries, payment methods, territories)
  • Build and maintain an internal knowledge base to scale domain expertise across the organization.

Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Business, or related quantitative field. A master's degree is an advantage.
  • 3+ years of experience in a research, analytical, or domain-focused role
  • Creative problem-solver with a growth hacking mindset
  • Strong research orientation with comfort in extracting insights from dense regulatory documents
  • Understanding of payment ecosystem, chargeback processes, or fraud prevention - a strong advantage
  • Self-directed learner who takes the initiative to develop expertise
  • Advanced SQL proficiency for data analysis and validation
  • Exceptional ability to quickly learn and master complex, technical subject matter
  • Native-level English (written and spoken) - required
  • Collaborative team player comfortable with ambiguity
  • Experience in fintech, e-commerce, or payment processing - an advantage
  • Critical thinking with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and compliance
