The Opportunity at Komodo Health:

The Technical Writer is a key contributor of data product documentation across the product portfolio centered on providing a world-class customer experience. This individual will be responsible for producing content that may span a variety of products, stakeholders, and audiences with a primary focus on external administrators and developers.

The Technical Writer reports to the Technical Writing Manager and is responsible for the daily execution of assigned tasks in accordance with Komodo Health’s data, product, regulatory, and industry requirements.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

  • Communicated effectively across a distributed, cross-functional product organization by producing content that aligns with internal standards and best practices
  • Established a curated process for authoring and delivering content while taking into consideration the unique working patterns of that team
  • Provided meaningful feedback in a respectful manner and supported internal process improvements
  • Developed strong, successful relationships with your internal stakeholder team

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…

  • Engage with software developers and data product managers to create documentation for internal and external audiences on Komodo Health’s data foundation and data products
  • Leverage existing team processes and best practices to deliver quality content for your application line
  • Work with our partners to stand up a distribution process that fits with the overall communication goals of the data product team
  • Attend sprint planning, standups, and regular meetings to interact with the product team(s) you support
  • Report regular status of assigned tasks and raised concerns and issues appropriately as they arose

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • Prior experience writing technical document about products and their features
  • Experience working with a content management system (Paligo preferred), Jira, and general knowledge of REST API and OpenAPI Specification
  • An eagerness for taking challenging ideas, concepts, and tasks and turning them into understandable and appealing content for diverse audiences
  • A demonstrated ability to dig into the subject matter you’re writing about so you understand not just how it works, but why it matters to the people using it
  • Enthusiasm for learning new tools and technologies with the ability to independently research complex ideas and ask questions when support is needed
  • Experience working in a team (or the desire to work in a team dynamic)
  • Ability to prioritize time to work independently and can quickly adapt as workloads, requirements, and priorities shift

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

  • Previous experience working with claims, EHR and/or other patient-centric data is preferred

Compensation at Komodo Health

The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of pay that we reasonably expect to pay across all U.S. locations and may span more than one career level. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.

The U.S. national starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses as determined in the Company’s sole discretion and in accordance with a written agreement or plan.
$86,000$146,000 USD

Where You’ll Work

Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
