The Opportunity at Komodo Health

The Workday/HRIS Specialist will join Komodo Health’s growing People Systems team to serve as one of the primary subject matter experts for Workday updates, reporting, integrations and enhancements. This role will accelerate our journey towards making data-driven decisions that support our overall business strategy and People outcomes. You will build on the work the team has been doing to build and operationalize a self-service paradigm in Workday.

As a Workday/HRIS Specialist, you will collaborate with People and Business leadership to identify and resolve integration issues, suggest long-term fixes, and propose ongoing enhancements. People Team supports our teams with data-driven decisions about roles, candidates, employees, and organizational structures. To support that effort, as a member of the People Systems and Insights team, you will enable system workflows, integrate systems, provide appropriate reports, resolve system issues, and champion data integrity. You will work closely with People team members, and IT systems teams to enhance the processes and procedures to ensure our systems, processes, procedures, and data are accurate, up-to-date, compliant, and efficient. Additionally, you will proactively review and improve business processes for the People team to support team growth, creating reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations to turn data into action. You will have an agile product mindset while defining, analyzing, building, and testing solutions.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have accomplished…

  • Assisted in the team’s transformation of our Workday HCM (data pull, system configuration) to a self-service system HRIS
  • Become the in-house People Systems team's first line of defense to monitor and resolve production issues, and propose enhancements in our Workday HCM
  • You will have interacted with WD users at all levels of the business, leveraging Jira to manage your workload
  • You maintained data accuracy and improved business processes to drive the full value of the Workday system
  • Contributed to the evolution and efficiency of HRIS SOPs

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…

  • Define, Configure, and maintain Workday business processes and need to know security access groups to enable each self-service workflow to be independent, and traceable.
  • Create and improve People (HCM) processes to empower authoritative business process owners
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the company and within the People team to measure organizational and team-specific KPIs with automated data reports from WD, self-service service dashboards
  • Answer employee HRIS questions and act as a primary responder for workday-related questions
  • Assist the team in setting up and maintaining an Agile ticket triaging process.
  • Assist with data entry and bulk imports in Workday
  • Conduct regular audits of People data to preserve its integrity and accuracy
  • Maintain organizational charts auditing Supervisory Orgs weekly and updating as needed

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • Previous experience working with +500 people that utilized Workday as their HRIS
  • Extensive experience creating reports in Workday and distributing them to the necessary users
  • 5+ years of conceptualizing, designing people systems processes, and analyzing complex data
  • Experience triaging and managing production tickets
  • Understanding of Data pipelines, data mapping, and BI tools
  • Ability to own a project end to end with minimal supervision
  • The ability to manage large, complex data sets with accuracy
  • Knowledge and experience configuring integration with other systems and mass loading data into Workday sourcing data from a variety of sources including spreadsheets
  • 2+ years of experience collaborating cross-functionally with an ability to understand what, why, and how by asking the necessary follow-up questions
  • You have a strong commitment to learning, a willingness to challenge your mental model, and a bias toward including multiple perspectives when looking at solutions to an issue
  • Must be fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)...

  • Knowledge of additional WorkDay modules
  • Ability to build Tableau dashboards

Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
