The Opportunity at Komodo Health
Reporting to the VP, General Counsel, this experienced attorney will draft and negotiate agreements with Komodo Health’s clients, vendors, and subcontractors, work closely to advise product and data teams on complex issues concerning license rights, use cases, and regulatory matters, and provide general, cross-functional support to the broader Komodo Health organization.
Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…
- Contract drafting and review– utilized their strong drafting skills and familiarity with the terms and conditions of SaaS and DPaaS/IaaS agreements, this person will have reviewed and commented upon contracts prepared by other parties in a manner that balances business requirements with practical legal analysis.
- Problem Solving – this person will have helped the business to achieve its objectives by successfully resolving complex problems, including quickly identifying and analyzing key business and legal issues and providing practical advice to appropriate levels of management on options to achieve business objectives.
- Client Service – will have delivered excellent client service through their personal and professional maturity to develop and maintain strong relationships with key business clients.
What you bring to Komodo Health:
- Extensive experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department, with a combination of relevant commercial experience in healthcare or technology, transactions, commercial contracting, and HIPAA/compliance.
- Law degree from an accredited law school
- Bar membership in at least one jurisdiction
- Broad understanding of and appreciation for the technical and functional components of the legal function, including: contracts and commercial law; labor and employment; intellectual property; compliance, strategic partnerships; and due diligence/integration related to acquisitions.
- Legal generalist, with an excellent sense of operations as well as commercial activities and an appreciation for the interplay between the two.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively such that the attorney is persuasive, concise and confident in their communications.
- Strong problem solving, relationship building and customer service skills
- Preferred work experience in tech, pharmaceutical industries or other relevant area
- Legal and regulatory experience in tech and/or pharmaceutical industries would be ideal

The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of pay that we reasonably expect to pay across all U.S. locations and may span more than one career level. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.
Where You’ll Work
Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
