Laboratory Information System (LIS) Administrator – Monrovia, CA
We are looking for a Laboratory Information System (LIS) Administrator at our clinical laboratory based in Monrovia, CA. You will report to the VP of Strategic Operations and have ownership of project management, ongoing development, and maintenance of the LIS platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gathers user/stakeholder needs, develops requirements, develops process specifications, develops process and system architectures to meet those specifications and requirements, writes scripts, instrument methods, conducts validations, and manages ongoing support of the system.
  • Interface with stakeholders in reviews and routine meetings.
  • Apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the user group on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of the LIS and other laboratory software systems.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform integrations with automation and instrument platforms within the lab.
  • Work with third party platforms for transmission of electronic records/data.
  • Map specifications and requirements into system or process architectures
  • Conduct LIS validations when bringing on new instrumentation and maintain documentation for continued verifications.
  • Implement new assay workflows and configuration within the LIS.
  • Communicate process changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation – to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Scripting and development of custom handling for complex workflow and result interpretation
  • Work closely with laboratory management to identify and implement process improvements.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • General knowledge of analytical and laboratory processes with 4+ years’ experience in a regulated laboratory environment
  • 1+ years of experience as a LIS Administrator or in a directly comparable role, demonstrating proficiency in LIS management and support.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with Oracle relational database architecture is preferred
  • PQ/SQL programing language fluency is a strong plus
