Inventory & Warehouse Role: Responsibilities & Duties

The role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute directly to operational efficiency. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless inventory flow and accuracy, from receipt to dispatch.

  • Inventory Control & Accuracy: Proactively maintain daily records of shipments, invoices, and stock levels to identify and address replenishment needs. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Logistics & Documentation: Accurately receive, store, and issue supplies and equipment. Prepare items for shipping, ensuring all proper documentation is meticulously completed and organized.
  • Operational Excellence: Perform precise data entry for all stock movements and items. Actively participate in the inventory and cycle counting process, consistently seeking ways to improve departmental procedures and efficiency.
  • System Utilization & Reporting: Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels, monitor orders, and generate reports. Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Project & Process Improvement: Support various inventory and operation projects as determined by the management team. This may include implementing new procedures, assisting with warehouse layout optimization, or helping to integrate new technologies.

Qualifications & Skills

This role is ideal for a self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a desire to enhance their skills in a cross-functional capacity.

  • Experience & Knowledge: At least one year of relevant experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment. You should have practical knowledge of core inventory procedures, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: The ability to analyze data to solve complex problems and visualize solutions. You should be able to identify root causes of issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively and communicate with all levels of staff, as well as with external partners and organizations. The ability to articulate ideas and share knowledge clearly is essential.
  • Proactive Mindset: A self-starter mentality, capable of working independently on assigned tasks while also being a collaborative team player. You should be adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing business environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence in using inventory management software and other relevant digital tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experienced forklift driver with VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) and Counterbalance experience.
