M2X Energy is a provider of low carbon methanol from stranded methane gas sources. M2X is a

Role

The Electrical Engineer will lead development of electrical systems for the automation of an

economical gas-to-liquid synthesis system utilizing flare gas and other stranded gases. You will

lead the development and integration of various electrical components, including 480V

motors/drives, high voltage and low voltage electric circuits, instrumentation, controllers, and

associated enclosures. You will be a key member of the rapidly growing M2X technical team

during a very exciting time in our company’s history, as we continue development and begin

manufacturing and deployment of our commercial product. This rapid development cycle will

allow the successful Electrical Engineer to lead many exciting projects and develop innovative

solutions to any challenges encountered. Expectations are that this role will design all future

electrical system architectures for our commercial unit and collaborate with both internal and

external fabricators and suppliers to build the electrical system hardware. This role has

significant career growth potential, as the role will continue to grow and evolve alongside the

company itself.

The Electrical Engineer must work effectively as part of a team and represent M2X Energy well

with partners and customers. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical

competence and proficiency in controls system fundamentals and application. The ideal

candidate will also demonstrate a passion for developing new technologies to mitigate the

worst effects of climate change.

Required Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines; 3.0 GPA or above.
• Knowledge of fundamentals of electric circuit design and power electronics.
• Hands-on experience with practical electrical systems, including wiring and electrical system hardware installation and troubleshooting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• 1+ years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3.5 GPA or above.
• MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
• Track record of working in a team setting to develop and deliver electrical solutions.
• Experience with electrical panel design software (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).
• 3+ years of professional experience.
• Experience in design and deployment of electrical and mechanical (mechatronics) systems,

including motor drives and other power electronics.

• Experience with data acquisition and analysis.
• Experience leading and participating in team settings.
• Ability to enthusiastically work on novel, complex engineering projects with minimal

oversight.

• Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and tackle new challenges.

Salary

• Pay: $85,000 – $125,000 per year

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Work Location: On-site in Welcome, North Carolina, on the Richard Childress Racing campus.

Welcome is a beautiful rural setting in the piedmont area of North Carolina, with nearby urban

areas including Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Charlotte. Together with the other members

of the engineering team located in Rockledge, FL, periodic travel to other locations may be

required to support system field testing and commercialization.
