ABOUT THE JOB

As the Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for helping us with strategy definition, project implementation, configuration, and guidance on Data Management best practice. Focus on developing strategies, patterns and roadmaps for data platforms that operate at petabyte scale using cloud technologies

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate with all internal and external stakeholders to understand data ecosystem, business requirements and be able to translate those requirements into a data solution plan.
  • Support the integration of healthcare data into an enterprise data platform including claims, eligibility, biometrics/lab results, pharmacy, encounter, etc.
  • Lead and provide guidance to other team members, to ensure successful delivery of strategy and implementation of Data Management solutions.
  • Articulate architecture, technology considerations and roadmaps for implementing Data Management solutions
  • Actively engage in the preparation, conception, and realization of client data projects
  • Lead process design reviews, conduct current state analysis, future state and roadmap assessments, project assessments, and define detailed implementation blueprint
  • Apply modern data management toolsets and methods to design, build, implement, and optimize data solutions of all types – including data warehouses, data lakes, ODS, streaming data, analytic and BI/visualizations, etc.
  • Support teams developing and maintaining master data repositories with systems design and architecture points of view to establish appropriate bounded contexts for systems and interfaces
  • Develop and evangelize patterns, principles, and best practices for infusing analytics and artificial intelligence into new solutions being developed or planned
  • Track industry and technology trends to identify new approaches or paradigms in data and analytics and use this information to influence leaders and develop future states and roadmaps

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred and 8+years of relevant data management consulting or industry experience (Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Engineering (or ETL), Master Data Management, Data Catalogs and Lineage, Data Governance and Data Quality, Data Strategy) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 8+ years of Data Engineering, Data Architecture and Design Experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing cloud solutions
  • 5+ years of experience developing integration patterns for healthcare data
  • Extensive knowledge of Design Patterns for Software and Data Engineering
  • Experience with tools (or similar) such as Databricks, Hadoop Stack, Airflow, Kafka, NiFi, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Elasticsearch (ELK), JSON, Parquet, Avro and other Data Storage formats
  • AWS Solutions architect or developer Certification a plus

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Understanding of leading cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake or Databricks)
  • Strong delivery skills and experience in data catalog, data lineage and data governance tools
  • Implementation experience in full cycle data engineering projects
  • Solid understanding of data technologies and the data lifecycle from data governance to consolidation of data to reporting
  • Strong understanding of how digital & data interact within enterprise ecosystem
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • Healthcare or Medical Record data experience
  • Entrepreneurial approach
  • Proven experience in building and delivering solutions
  • Outstanding demonstrated verbal and written communication
  • Experience in at least 3 full cycle implementations.
  • Deep experience designing and deploying end-to-end data management solutions on a leading technology platform.
  • Experience in MDM, data catalogue, data lineage and data governance tools
  • AWS platform experience with serverless, CloudFormation, Lambda, API gateway, etc.
  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset in innovating, finding breakthroughs and has a growth mindset.
  • Can synthesize information about complex, technical topics, to build a compelling narrative for leaders and business teams about the data and analytics systems and landscape.

Pay Range: $115,000 - $160,000/yr

The actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate’s years of experience and/or skill level.
