ABOUT THE JOB
The Regional People Partner is the dedicated HR leader for a defined health center region, working in close partnership with the General Manager and Regional Leadership Team. In Marathon Health’s health center model, this role ensures that talent, culture, and performance priorities are aligned to drive regional success across core roles — including Medical Assistants, Providers, and Health Center Support teammates. As the strategic people advisor, the Regional People Partner builds leadership capability, drives accountability, and ensures the teammate experience reflects Marathon Health’s values and standards. Success in this role is measured through outcomes that matter most to our health centers: teammate retention, engagement (including pulse participation and scores), leadership readiness, and compliance with enterprise practices. Serving as the connector between regional operations and enterprise People Experience programs, the Regional People Partner ensures that initiatives are implemented in a way that works for health centers; creating consistent and high-quality people, patient, and client experiences. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Teammate Relations & Leadership Enablement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Regional Leaders and teammates on employee relations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and workplace issues.
- Lead investigations and performance management cases (coaching, counseling, improvement plans) with consistency and fairness.
- Manage teammate leaves (FMLA, disability, LOA) ensuring compliance and leader support.
- Provide guidance on hiring, promotions, and employment changes, balancing business needs with compliance considerations.
- Partner with Regional Leaders to align people strategies with business objectives, driving retention, engagement, and performance.
- Equip new and existing Regional Leaders with PX tools, practices, and policies to ensure effective leadership of clinical teams.
- Support Regional Leaders in achieving their key people KPIs (retention, engagement pulse participation, engagement scores).
Culture & Teammate Development
- Play a pivotal role on the Regional People Team (Regional People Partner, Regional Training Coordinator, & Regional TA Partner) by leading and implementing people strategies that drive the region’s growth and success by aligning talent, culture, and performance priorities across the region.
- Conduct periodic talent assessments with the General Manager (e.g., 9-box reviews, flight risk analysis, and development planning) to strengthen succession pipelines, mitigate risk, and ensure leader accountability for teammate growth.
- Support the General Manager and Regional Leaders in maintaining a strong pulse on teammate morale and culture, building trust and credibility across the region.
- Facilitate Regional Leader workshops, providing tools and resources that promote leadership best practices.
- Build Regional Leader capability to proactively address issues before they escalate, creating an environment of transparency, inclusion, and engagement.
- Partner with Organizational Development to align PX programs and initiatives with regional priorities.
- Cascade clear, consistent communication on new systems, workflows, engagement tools, and change management initiatives.
- Actively advocate for Community, Inclusion, and Belonging in every aspect of the teammate experience.
Data Informed Advisory & Process Improvement
- Conduct a monthly review with General Manager of key People KPIs (retention, engagement pulse participation, engagement scores, turnover trends, etc.), and partner to develop and execute action plans that drive improvement.
- Identify workforce trends and provide actionable insights to inform leadership decisions and regional strategies.
- Support teammate lifecycle processes, including hires, transfers, promotions, separations, retirements, disability, FMLA, unemployment, workers’ compensation, benefits, and leaves of absence.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, collaborating with the legal department as needed.
- Partner with the HRIS team to access and analyze reports, identify trends, and address areas of concern.
- Recommend and implement process and system improvements that strengthen People practices and enable Regional People Team effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree plus 5–7 years of experience in HR, with an extensive generalist background in employee relations & engagement, HR operations, leave of absence, HR workflows, people KPIs and data, state/federal compliance, etc or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations required.
Ability to travel up to 10% to health center locations within a 100-mile radius.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000/yr
