Vice President Evidence Generation

Is your passion leading Evidence Generation Stakeholder Insights studies that improve healthcare outcomes worldwide? Our HEOR team is hiring a Vice President to lead teams of interdisciplinary research professionals conducting client studies in the pharmacy and biotech space; operating as a thought leader, problem solver and consultative expert.

About You:

  • You are an experienced health economics and outcomes research consultant who has experience leveraging a broad range of data types to answer key quantitative research questions for pharmacy and biotech clients.
  • You have a demonstrated track record in preference elicitation and patient-centered outcomes research, as well as possess a solid understanding of key concepts and principles related to comparative effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and economic modeling studies; and can clearly explain the rationale, methods/results, and strategy for studies to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • You understand strengths and limitations of alternative approaches and propose applications/solutions of new or existing methods tailored to a specific research question.

About The Role:

The VP Evidence Generation will be responsible for the strategic growth of our Evidence Generation offering as part of the core HEOR leadership team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a mix of HEOR scientific expertise and business leadership along with a passion for building and growing new business, cultivating key client relationships, and finding opportunities to improve delivery efficiency.

Collaborate across HEOR and adjacent business units with the intention of providing larger, cross functional, integrated HEOR and strategic market access offerings to clients. Expanding the breadth and scope of the Evidence Generation Stakeholder Insights offering and build new revenue-generating opportunities (e.g., strategic partnerships, novel methods of primary data collection, HTA facing evidence generation efforts, other). Collaborate across HEOR and adjacent business units with the intention of providing larger, cross functional, integrated HEOR and strategic market access offerings to clients.

As a project manager, you will be responsible for ensuring overall quality; develop recommendations based on expected impact; communicate risks and opportunities to ensure staff alignment; and assume the role of final decision maker able to overturn decisions and take accountability for outcomes. You will be accountable for timely delivery and financial performance across projects. You will review and sign off on deliverables as client ready including protocols, statistical analysis plans, technical reports, and slides as well as identify necessary deviations from templates to ensure content aligns with objectives

As a client manager, you will provide final sign-off on update slides/minutes and actions for overall study; own relationships with clients and be viewed as subject matter expert. You will act as advisor on client calls and in responses to emails as well as proactively manage client expectations and work with team members to implement strategies to problem solve on a client or project-basis.

In addition to research project responsibilities, Vice Presidents will be involved in business development, participating in sales calls, leading study conceptualization, and drafting proposals for clients. Vice Presidents will also have line management responsibilities which include ensuring appropriate staffing and creating development plans for their direct reports, as well as overseeing hiring, identification of talent, and development of the Evidence Generation team.

Required Experience:

  • 10-15+ years of experience, at least four in a consulting environment
  • Postgraduate degree - PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred; Master’s degree in a subject related to health services research e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health, with relevant experiences considered.
  • Proven record of leadership capabilities, including success building and retaining teams pointed at evidence generation research and delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern econometric, epidemiological, and observational research methods.
  • Previous exposure to and understanding of the tenets of qualitative and mixed methods research
  • Strong knowledge of HEOR, pharmaceutical industry, health policy, and payer value assessment and evidence requirements in the US and globally.
  • Proven business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a diverse and interdisciplinary team of researchers
  • Ability to line-manage and mentor direct reports and ensure positive staff well-being/team dynamic
  • Established record of relevant peer-reviewed scientific publications and congress presentations

Helpful Experience:

  • Knowledge of the interconnectedness of the variety of commercialization services that a life sciences company needs in order to successfully launch a project.
  • Willingness and desire to learn and share knowledge

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
