Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner who will be responsible for providing effective HR delivery within our APAC region, covering the following countries - China, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Implements an effective HR strategy aligned to business objectives and cultural norms for assigned business unit and/or geographic region.
- Supports organizational high growth and ensures organizational is in alignment for the growth.
- Identification of trends and causes of turnover and proactive implementation of strategies to enhance retention.
- Integration of programs and practices across assigned groups to enhance consistency, effectiveness, and champion best practices.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, and adherence to local regulations and policies.
- Partner with legal counsel to ensure that employment practices and actions are compliant while meeting the needs of the business.
- Participates in and provides oversight for harmonization activities.
- Participates in ad hoc global HR projects.
- Partners with members of the Talent Acquisition team on programs, process, reporting, and analysis
- Advise managers on employee relations issues, review/draft performance improvement plans, and execute terminations as necessary
- Oversee the complete onboarding/off-boarding process for employees which includes new hire orientation, manager communication, and may include preparing new hire meeting agendas, background checks, data entry into key systems, etc.
- Provide oversight for the employee relations process including managing general day-to-day queries from staff, carry out objective investigations, performance improvements, and advice and risk assessments.
- Lead sensitive employee relations issues and bring to a successful conclusion.
- Partner with the assigned leadership team with the localization of the culture/engagement initiatives
- Collaborates with other members of the HR function with regard to the planning and execution of projects and initiatives.
- Identify training needs for business unit and/or geographic regional staff and individual executive coaching needs & partner with Talent Management / L&D to deliver solutions.
- Provide coaching, counselling, and career development.
- Organize & plan training as required.
- Some travel to other offices and business meetings may be required.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent field of study
- Minimum of 8+ years relevant experience in a Human Resources role
- Experience of working within the Biopharmaceutical industry - Biotech / Pharmaceutical or CRO international organisations
- Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in Mandarin and English languages
- Experience of working with SAP or similar HRIS system
Other Required:
- Exceptional organizational, customer service, interpersonal communication skills with the flexibility to thrive in a fast paced, changing environment and the ability to actively participate and sometimes lead cross functional teams
- Knowledge regional country employment regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge in all areas of HR to include but not be limited to, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations and compliance
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Able to travel both domestically and internationally including overnight stays (around 10% of role)
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification or equivalent HR certification
- Experience supporting organizations within a decentralized or matrix style structure
