Why this Role Exists
As the Business Development Manager, you will serve as the primary customer-facing team member focused on driving market education of Profound Research capabilities and procuring clinical trials for our physicians and patients.
You will lead account planning and engagement, identifying ongoing and planned clinical trials which benefit from Profound’s access to patients and our physician partner capabilities and expertise.
You will manage interactions with sponsors and CROs addressing various legal, feasibility, budgetary, and proposals as necessary to progress facilitate the sales process.
This role will achieve success through effective identification of study opportunities, proactive engagement with key sponsor and CRO stakeholders, and efficient collaboration with feasibility, operational, and budget team members across Profound.
The role may also provide support of industry conferences and meetings.
Responsibilities
· Conduct of market research identifying qualified opportunities to positively impact ongoing and planned clinical trials
· Key account planning, including identification of sponsor and CRO stakeholders overseeing studies and programs which align with Profound capabilities
· Drive the sales process to ensure timelines and sponsor/CRO expectations are met or exceeded
· Track sales activities, communication, and status within Profound’s CRM, following approved processes
Requirements
· 2 years of experience in sales and/or sales support
· 2 years of experience in clinical research or related field
· 2 years of experience using CRMs such as SalesForce
· Proficient in summarizing and reporting out deal status
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
· Understanding of clinical trial conduct and/or patient recruitment
· Understanding of pharmaceutical purchasing processes associated with clinical operations and recruitment
· Can utilize CRM system to produce reports which highlight commercial pipeline, sales, and activities for clinical trial execution
Travel Requirements
· This role will be remote or office-based as able. 30% travel
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing and walking.
· Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
· Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
· Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
· Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and making fine discriminations in sound.
· The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
