Vice President, Sales Engineering

Location: New York City

Job Summary

Prove is looking for an experienced Vice President of Sales Engineering to lead our global team of pre-sales engineers that is organized and aligned across our various sales segments. The ideal candidate will have experience partnering with Sales, Product and other peer leaders to drive efficiency of investment for Prove. Experience working with Identity, Authentication or other Security services is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, hire, and scale a growing team of highly technical Sales Engineers supporting North American, Global, and Partner Sales Directors
  • Refine and iterate the sales engineering playbook promoting repeatable processes and scalability
  • Work with Sales, Implementation, and Product leadership to identify areas of improvement in our processes and build durable customer relationships off of value realization and impactful solutions
  • Obtain and maintain subject matter expertise in all of Prove’s solutions and technology stack
  • Work cross functionally within Prove to promote and influence strategic product direction, drive competitive differentiation, and nurture a transparent, collaborative SE team
  • Ensure the organization develops and maintains a catalog of Sales Engineering services with repeatable, scalable artifacts measurable by SLAs and KPIs
  • Stay on top of market trends and optimizations of Sales Engineering best practices and applying where opportunities arise
  • Stay informed with key industry trends & market disruptors, through reading, workshops, webinars
  • Be an advocate of Prove's capabilities within your professional network
  • Lead performance and key talent ensuring that we are taking the necessary actions to attract and retain top talent, further develop a diverse team, and manage performance at all levels
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5+ years of Sales Engineering leadership experience, including prior experience leading first-line managers and individual contributing Sales Engineers
  • Experience in North America and Global Sales support of both direct sales and partnerships
  • 10+ years experience with architected pre-sales solutions - creating defined processes, guidelines, and best practices in a highly technical, rapidly evolving SaaS environment
  • A collaborative leadership approach with a focus on teaching, mentoring, and growing your team
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience assisting Sales teams with cloud based solutions with a firm grasp of the customer journey from prospect to revenue live
  • Technically curious leader able to articulate the value Prove’s technology solutions offer for digital identity across all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven executive communication skills both written and oral
  • Extensive technical experience with implementing REST style API’s in a rapid growth startup environment
  • Solid understanding of oAuth and other API authentication technologies
  • Excellent understanding of API integrations from standard API specifications in one or more programming languages such as Javascript, Java, C++, Python, etc.
  • Ability to build customized workflows by engaging with customers
  • Understanding of basic security concepts such as encryption, hashing, behavior biometrics, and native app SDK’s

The anticipated salary range for this role in New York is $240,000- $250,000 plus variable commission / company bonus. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s, experience, knowledge, skills, geo-location and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
