Rapyd Europe is seeking an experienced and skilled Legal Counsel to join its Legal team in Iceland. The Icelandic Legal team is part of Rapyd Global legal team. Among its responsibilities are managing and facilitating support on legal matters related to Rapyd’s business,

Responsibilities

  • Manage various legal matters related to Rapyd’s business and facilitate efficient legal support across the business
  • Advise on regulations specific to Rapyd’s business, including payment services and e-money legislation, privacy, and other regulatory matters
  • Draft a wide range of contracts and legal documents
  • Provide practical, risk-weighted legal guidance on a wide range of legal matters related to Rapyd’s business
  • Legal and contractual risk management

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Law
  • At least five years of relevant legal experience in law firms or financial sector
  • Proven experience in leading projects and solving complex legal issues
  • Exemplary analytical skills and ability to explain complex matters in a simple way
  • Excellent drafting skills and experience in working with legal documents, including contracts
  • Good understanding of legal and regulatory risks, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements

  • Strong legal instinct and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Icelandic
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, and dynamic environment
  • A natural inclination for being proactive, practical, and results-driven
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills
  • Team player mentality and excellent interpersonal skills.
