Position Summary:
The VP of Business Development is a senior growth leader responsible for driving new business opportunities, influencing executive decision-makers, and achieving revenue targets through the sale of complex, value-based care solutions. This is a hunter role and an individual contributor position on the Growth team, requiring a track record of consultative selling to large, complex healthcare organizations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Open doors with new health plans, payers, and provider organizations to drive net-new revenue.
  • Quota Achievement: Consistently achieve or exceed annual sales and growth targets.
  • Executive Influence: Build and manage relationships at the C-suite level (CEO, CFO, CMO, CIO, etc.), positioning TurningPoint as a trusted partner.
  • Solution Selling: Lead the sales cycle for complex value-based care models, including risk-based arrangements, shared savings, and clinical decision support programs.
  • Market Engagement: Represent the company at national conferences, industry events, and client meetings to build brand awareness and pipeline.
  • Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with Clinical, Product, and Finance teams to shape proposals and ensure alignment with client needs.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate forecasts and actively manage opportunities through CRM.
  • Thought Leadership: Stay current on healthcare industry trends, payer strategies, and regulatory dynamics to inform sales strategy.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive business development, sales, or partnership experience in healthcare.
  • Proven track record of selling to payers, health systems, or provider organizations.
  • Experience selling complex solutions (e.g., value-based care, risk-bearing models, clinical programs).
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence C-suite stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as a hunter in an individual contributor role.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences, client meetings, and industry events.
