- Answer telephones promptly and professionally.
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Route calls appropriately, offering voice mail, or redirection of calls as needed.
- Direct patients and/or visitors to appropriate waiting areas.
- Coordinate appointments and visits and advise physicians/nursing staff accordingly.
- Gather appropriate patient and insurance information.
- Explain financial requirements to the patient or responsible party and collect co-pays as required.
- Organize activities of office for efficient operation.
- Maintain files and office records to allow for easy retrieval of information.
- Provide accurate information regarding operation of the office, and resolve difficult situations for a positive outcome.
- Handle difficult situations tactfully and always with courtesy.
- Retrieve and distribute incoming faxes as appropriate. Check voicemail messages daily.
- Gather patient information necessary to process billing.
- Assure accuracy and neatness of correspondence, letters, memos, messages, etc., before distribution.
- Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards. Attend meetings as required.
- Travel to Outreach clinics or Satellite offices as requested or assigned.
- Meter outgoing mail.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
