US Heart and Vascular is in search of a Referral Coordinator to join our team at Orion Medical in Houston, TX. The Referral Coordinator will perform selected nursing and administrative/clerical duties that assist in patient care management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides excellent customer service and the highest quality patient care.
• Tracking may use online referral database(s) outside of current practice management system, verifying benefits and authorizing insurance.
• Setting appointments for new and existing patients.
• System navigator and point of contact for clinic offices concerning completion of the transfer of online documentation to the practice management system.
• Ensure complete and accurate registration in the practice management system, including patient demographic and current insurance information.
• Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
• At all times protects the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) of patients per HIPAA regulations; does not normally have business need for seeing PHI of employees.
• Actively demonstrates collaborative and professional teamwork at all times.
• Performs other duties as required

.Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Cardiology practice experience highly preferred.
• Fluently speaks, reads, and writes English.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: standing, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, transporting supplies or equipment, walking for extended periods of time, and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 50 pounds.
