US Heart and Vascular is in need of a full time Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Memorial Katy Cardiology Associates in Katy, TX.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules all patient in-office testing, procedures, and follow-ups. Provides and explains thoroughly and completely all testing and procedure instructions to patient.
• Faxes out-of-office procedures and testing orders to correct outpatient facilities. Provides and explains all instructions to patient.
• Faxes and provides patient with lab orders.
• Provides patient with orders and instructions. Follows up with facilities of patient completion. Obtains and ensures timely delivery of patient results.
• Follow up with patients who ask to schedule testing, procedures, and follow-ups for a later date. Maintains documentation in patient medical record in our EMR system.
• Call patients to follow up after cancellations and/or no-shows and reschedule accordingly. Document in medical record in our EMR.
• Physician liaison for the hospital, includes discharge orders, follow ups, and test scheduling.
• Collect patient payments in accordance with patient benefits and fee schedules.
• Close money collected batch, reconcile and complete by end of day.
• Coordinate with offices for testing referrals. Obtain orders and patient demographic information. Create patient charts and update patient demographics and insurance on record as needed.
• Answer phone calls and assist the administrative front desk team when needed.
• Send in prescriptions and prescription refills per the physicians' request.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of reception or medical office experience.
• Experience in cardiology is a plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
