US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Cardiology Specialists of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs nuclear camera and cardiac PET examinations as physician prescribed and in accordance with protocol and guidelines.
• Educates patient on procedure to be performed; obtains informed consent prior to procedure; instructs and assists the patient in physical positioning for the examination.
• Order radiopharmaceuticals from appropriate pharmacy, assumes proper doses, documents used products and unused products.
• Coordinates and ensures all personnel adhere to radiation safety monitoring policy.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals during exam as prescribed.
• Documents EMR timely of each examination.
• Ensures that physician is notified of all pertinent test results

Requirements:

• Position requires Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology
• Graduate of an AMA accredited program in radiologic technology preferred
• 2 years experience is preferred but not required
