Us Heart and Vascular is in need of a Remote Medical Coder to join our USHV team.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes and enters peripheral and cardiology diagnostic and interventional procedures, Cardiothoracic, and Vascular surgery and Hospital Charges
  • Audits medical record documentation to determine accuracy of coded and billed services, including reviews of documentation to establish compliance with physician/NP billing rules
  • Responds to government and commercial insurance requested audits
  • Informs supervisors/management of issues or concerns identified with coding and billing practices
  • Responds to coding and billing questions from physicians, administration, clinical, and AR staff
  • Corrects billing records with inconsistent information and /or containing discrepancies
  • Provides feedback and education to physician and professional staff regarding changes in coding methodology
  • Maintains effective and cooperative communication with providers, administrative and AR staff
  • Organizes and participates with the annual physician E&M audits
  • Maintains the CPT procedure code and ICD-10 code data base
  • Attends meeting, travel to other sites may be necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years in Medical Coding, preferably in Cardiology, and/or Primary care
  • 2-4 years in a Medical Billing Environment
  • Coding Certification CPC, CCS-P, ACS-CA
  • E/M Coding experience preferred but not required
