US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham, AL

Responsibilities:

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Help physicians examine and treat patients
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
• Documenting/Recording Information
• Maintain medical records
• May help in other departments such as call center or diagnostics
• Off day may differ week to week, this position is 4 X 10 Monda thru Friday Shifts.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Nexgen EHR is preferred but not required
