Medical Assistant (1574)

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our vascular team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients during post-procedure recovery following vascular interventions.
• Obtain and document vital signs, pain level, and recovery assessments.
• Provide patient education on post-op instructions, wound care, and follow-up expectations.
• Assist clinical team with patient positioning, preparation, and room turnover.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of recovery bays and procedure areas.
• Prepare supplies, restock rooms, and assist clinical staff as needed.
• Schedule vascular procedures, follow-up visits, imaging studies, and consultations.
• Verify insurance coverage, prior authorizations, and required referrals.
• Communicate pre-procedure instructions to patients (fasting, medication holds, arrival times).
• Coordinate with referring offices and internal team to maintain full schedules.
• Document patient interactions accurately in the EMR.
• Answer phones, return patient messages, and send reminders.
• Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check-in and paperwork.
• Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding procedure prep and recovery questions.
• Ensure timely flow of patients between procedure, recovery, and discharge.

Requirements:

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Vascular Experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge in medical terminology
