Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Lead Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Memorial Katy Cardiology in Katy, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with managers on workflow improvements, scheduling, new initiatives, and patient complaint escalations.
  • Schedules patient appointments efficiently, including appointments directed by referring providers.
  • Checks in patients at clinic locations and confirm scheduled appointments.
  • Accurately enters and updates patient demographic, insurance, and authorization information in required systems to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Verifies medical insurance coverage, eligibility, and patient demographic information.
  • Informs patients of encounter co-pays, deductibles, and account balances; collects payments at the time of visit as applicable.
  • Provides patients with required forms and facilitates their completion.
  • Assists patients with presumptive applications, as applicable.
  • Answers telephone calls in a timely and professional manner; responds to inquiries or transfers calls according to established procedures.
  • Uses paging systems appropriately and page providers for hospital consults or call-backs as needed.
  • Maintains accurate scheduling systems and appointment records.
  • Provides coverage for check-in and check-out at other clinic locations as needed.
  • Greets and assists patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Performs related duties as required to support clinic and organizational operations.
  • Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions Follows processes and policies for the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED from accredited institution is required.
  • Three (3) years of Medical Front Office experience is required.
  • If the individual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver’s license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.
  • Cardiology practice experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing in English, to various audiences.
  • Ability to manage time, organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team, to complete daily activities according to the work schedule.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • High School diploma or GED from accredited institution is required.
  • Three (3) years of Medical Front Office experience is required.
  • If the individual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver’s license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.
