Description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Director of Clinical Operations to join our team in the Dallas - Fort Worth TX area.

Role Overview

The Director of Clinic Operations (DCO) is a senior regional operations leader responsible for the performance, stability, and scalable growth of a multi-site cardiovascular portfolio in North Texas.

This role goes beyond clinic oversight. This role carries full multi-site P&L ownership and operational accountability across a portfolio of 10–15+ clinic locations. The DCO will play a visible role in shaping the region’s operating model, leadership standards, governance rhythm, and long-term growth trajectory.

We are seeking a decisive, systems-oriented leader with the capacity to operate at both the portfolio and platform level — and with the potential to assume broader regional scope over time.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Full operational and financial performance across a multi-site outpatient cardiology portfolio

  • Accountable for financial performance, revenue growth, cost discipline, and operating margin across assigned clinic portfolio.

  • Direct leadership and calibration of clinic managers/leaders

  • Physician-facing operational partnership in a high-accountability, fast-paced environment

  • Cross-site alignment, standardization, and performance discipline

  • Contribution to regional governance cadence and operating rhythm

  • Identification and resolution of systemic operational friction

  • Leadership bench development and succession planning

Core Leadership Capabilities Required

  • Decisive Ownership & Accountability: Makes timely decisions under pressure and drives measurable results without over-escalation.
  • Platform-Level Thinking: Sees patterns across sites. Balances standardization with physician autonomy. Thinks in terms of scalability, sustainability, and system design — not just single-clinic performance.
  • Physician-Trusted Authority: Builds credibility quickly in a physician-led environment. Comfortable pushing back respectfully and anchoring conversations in shared outcomes.
  • Talent Calibrator & Builder: Rigorously assesses leadership capability, raises standards, and builds bench strength. Comfortable making difficult talent decisions.
  • Operating Model Contributor: Contributes beyond assigned portfolio. Shapes cross-site governance, operating cadence, and regional alignment in partnership with senior leadership.

Experience Profile Required

  • 7–10+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience, including demonstrated multi-site P&L ownership across 10–15+ clinic locations.

  • Multi-site ambulatory oversight with direct performance accountability

  • Direct physician-facing operational experience

  • Demonstrated stabilization, turnaround, or scale experience

  • Experience coaching and upgrading clinic-level leaders

  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field required.

Strongly Preferred

  • Cardiovascular or physician services platform experience

  • Experience in a high-growth, PE-backed, or rapidly evolving healthcare environment is a plus

  • Evidence of upward leadership trajectory and expanded scope over time

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, Finance, or related healthcare/business field) strongly preferred.

Leadership Profile We Are Seeking

This leader:

  • Operates with urgency and discipline

  • Is comfortable challenging the status quo

  • Makes decisions with incomplete information

  • Balances assertiveness with judgment

  • Thinks beyond their portfolio

  • Is energized by complexity and growth

  • Has visible runway for expanded regional responsibility
