Nuclear Medicine/PET CT Technologist
Willowbrook Cardiovascular Associates is adding to our team and in search of a Full-Time Nuclear Medicine / PET CT Technologist in Houston, TX. This position is based in our Dotson Road office location.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
- Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses, under direction of Physician
- Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET CT studies on patients as prescribed by physicians, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.
- Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors
- Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
- Maintains quality control of all equipment
- Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
- Attends required meetings
- Performs related work as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Must be confident with working independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
- Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB
- 2 years of experience preferred not required.
- Open to new Graduates
- BLS/CPR Certification
