Overview
Description
US Heart and Vascular is searching for a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our float team at HeartPlace in Dallas, TX. This position will float to our HeartPlace Imaging Clinic locations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Explains procedures to patients and obtain informed consent from patient.
- Administers all in-office nuclear scans including PET CT.
- Images, processes, and formats images for physician interpretation.
- Maintains cleanliness of nuclear room.
- Documents test results to physicians and patients, as directed by the physician.
- Verifies patient appointments the day before, to ensure use of isotope.
- Assists in notifying patients of special instructions prior to testing, i.e., “do not take any medication 24 hours prior to visit.”
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist will assist physicians as needed.
- Maintains current CPR certification.
- Always adheres to company safety standards.
- Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
- Performs all other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Degree or appropriate certification training.
- Minimum two years’ experience is preferred but not required.
- ARRT and/or NMTCB registry and current Texas licensure in Nuclear Medicine.
- Current CPR certification.
