Product Manager
At Veda, we expect Product Managers to thrive at the intersection of customer experience, market feedback, industry trends, leadership insight, and engineering discipline. Bringing clarity to customer feedback and discovering the common threads among requests and unspoken needs helps us make informed long-term strategy decisions, set appropriate mid-term goals, and make near-term prioritization decisions. This highly visible individual contributor is an embedded business partner for engineering teams, representing the voice of the customer and the potential client and market impact of our software development efforts. Product managers need to be equally comfortable with the details of iterative development and high level product goals with their engineering partners and executive leadership.
We value the ability to represent technical complexity to non-technical peers and clients as well as understanding the technical impacts of requests. The ideal candidate is comfortable with relational database concepts, as well as data transformation processes, ETL, or data pipelines. We do not expect product managers to be hands-on engineers, but as an integral part of the software development teams, it will help to understand your peers' day to day work.
Success in this role will be evaluated based on the ability to manage long-term product goals with short-term customer deliverables while providing clear and detailed reporting to company leadership.

About You:

  • You have 4+ years product management experience in technical/development environments
  • You are comfortable interpreting customer requirements, understanding relative complexity, crafting the customer story, and creating technical requirements
  • You have previous experience owning product backlog and working alongside engineering management to successfully deliver high profile software products in the B2B space
  • You are highly organized, methodical, and self-motivated with a bias toward action. You work well under pressure in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Technical Engineering Manager, ensure the successful delivery of technical projects related to data intake and transformation then articulate the value of efforts toward product and company vision
  • Develop trusted partnership with cross functional stakeholders with a clear grasp of business initiatives and priorities - heavy focus on working closely with customer-facing implementation, operations, and account management teams.
  • Manage communications internally and externally to keep stakeholders well informed about ongoing initiatives from the beginning to end, including items not currently prioritized
  • You maintain the product backlog with direction from the VP of product, the growth team, customer organization, and the engineering team
  • Collaborate with customers, internal customer teams and your engineering team to lead efforts to convert business requirements to execution-ready technical requirements
  • You ensure the Engineering team has well defined and estimated deliverables and helps to manage them to completion on time and on budget
  • Identify roadblocks to success and efficiency and help remove them to shorten feedback loops and increase our collective ability to solve customer problems
  • Escalate issues and risks to management early/often; inclusive of mitigation strategies
  • You lead the effort to produce and release product and process documentation related to your product

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years product management experience in technical/development environments
  • 4+ years of experience in development and delivery of B2B data solutions
  • Professional experience with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams
  • Some familiarity with healthcare is helpful though not required, as long as you’re curious about the healthcare system, we’re happy to teach you.
